This workshop will assist with clinical reasoning of complex fracture types in the hand, wrist and elbow.  We will discuss complex intra articular and comminuted fracture types. We will look at the anatomy, biomechanics and healing. The workshop is aimed at a medium to advanced level. It will take an in depth look at all fractures including but not limited to, transverse, intra-articular and comminuted fractures of the proximal phalanx, metacarpal, middle phalanx, thumb, wrist and elbow. We will examine mechanism of injury, differential diagnoses, their assessment and management. X-rays, CT and MRI relevant to the conditions will be read and interpreted in an interactive and open discussion. This course is suitable for Hand Therapists, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists working in hospitals, private practice or community settings treating and assessing upper limb fractures. An understanding of hand anatomy will be assumed.
