Practitioner of Hand Therapy – Occupational Therapist

Kara graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2007 with a degree in Occupational therapy. Working initially in a large public hospital, she rotated into the hand therapy team where she remained until leaving Melbourne for two years in London working in military rehabilitation. Upon her return to Melbourne in 2013, Kara decided to pursue a career specialising in hand therapy, working initially in both the private and public sector before undertaking a full time role with Action Rehab in 2014.

 

Kara’s areas of particular interest include trauma and sport related injuries with a focus on using a patients hobbies, sporting goals and passions as therapeutic tools to assist in recovery.

 

Outside of work, Kara enjoys a very active social life and loves to travel as often and to as many different places in the world as she can.  She is also an avid gym goer, swimmer and Western Bulldog supporter.
