Our team of highly experienced therapists provide assessment and rehabilitation for patients who sustain an injury or are living with a hand related condition. Action Rehab are pleased to now provide group education sessions for patients, covering the following common disorders:
- Arthritis treatment – strengthening and prevention
- Scaphoid fracture strengthening and prevention
- Pregnancy hand pain & wrist Pain – pre and post natal treatment and prevention
We recommend patients attend as early on in their condition as possible to prevent further injury and joint destruction, however later stages of the condition are addressed as are surgical options. Hand therapy can delay and even prevent the need for surgery. We provide information on both pre and post–operative management. Patients can attend at any stage of recovery to maximise their functional outcome. We will strengthen and rehabilitate you through the sessions.
Sessions Will Include
- Assessment and general overview of the conditions
- Symptom management strategies/joint protection
- Treatment options, both conservative and surgical where appropriate
- Strengthening
- Discussion on common complications and prevention
- Question time
Cost – Who Can Attend
These sessions are available for anyone living with one of these conditions. Groups will run on a four week cycle. Cost of the sessions are:
- Single session: $12
- All four sessions (full program): $40
