Kara Pocervina graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2007 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Working initially in a large public hospital, she rotated into the hand therapy team where she remained until leaving Melbourne. Kara spent time in the United Kingdom working in a large military rehabilitation hospital with major trauma patients.

Upon her return to Melbourne in 2013, Kara decided to pursue a career focused on hand therapy, working initially in both the private and public sector before undertaking a full-time role with at Action Rehab in 2014.

Kara is a passionate Western Bulldogs supporter having grown up in the Western Suburbs. She currently consults to the Western Bulldogs AFLW team and works closely with their players and Physiotherapists on their elbow, wrist and hand therapy rehabilitation.

Kara’s areas of particular interest include trauma and sport related injuries with a focus on using a patient’s hobbies, sporting goals and passions as therapeutic tools to assist in their recovery.

Outside of work, Kara enjoys a very active social life and loves to travel as often and to as many different places in the world as she can. She is passionate about her health and fitness goals and enjoys spending as much time as possible with her nieces and nephews.
